The CIO Minute: What We Cannot Control

Antoine Harrison: The most pressing situations that present themselves to me and keep me up at night as a CIO are the, the issues that we have no control over. We don't really have control over funding. You know, we can advocate for funding and that we need funding so that we can have the resources to do the jobs that we want to do, but we don't always get those resources. The other is outside influences, such as cyber security, hackers. These are organizations and people who spend hours and hours trying to identify ways to get into your system. We do not put in that many hours focusing on just one thing, so we are generalists trying to attack situations where they are experts in and trying to maintain the safety and the security of everybody's information is, is overwhelming, but you know that's what we're paid to do.
