New DEI Report from CUPA-HR

min read

CUPA-HR recently published Diversity in Higher Education Information Technology, a survey-based report offering a snapshot of diversity and related issues among the campus IT workforce.

Our colleagues at the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) have just released a new report. Diversity in Higher Education Information Technology: From Today's Workforce to Tomorrow's Leaders underscores some of the critical issues involved in higher education improving diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). The report covers the finding that the representation of women and racial/ethnic minorities in the higher education IT profession is much lower than among the students our institutions serve. Diversity in Higher Education Information Technology includes data on these demographics, as well as on pay equity for higher education IT employees, the aging of IT administrators, and the characteristics of possible pipeline positions for the future.

This report, along with the EDUCAUSE research in The Higher Education IT Workforce Landscape, 2019, offers important insights, especially for those CIOs who have signed the EDUCAUSE CIO's Commitment on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and those who are interested in the work before us to ensure greater DEI in the higher education IT profession.

Congratulations to CUPA-HR.
