In December 2015, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) issued a request for information (RFI) regarding the use and impact of its Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity. EDUCAUSE responded to the RFI on behalf of the Higher Education Information Security Council (HEISC), drawing attention to HEISC's Cybersecurity and Privacy Guide, and encouraging NIST to tap HEISC's expertise as it works to continuously improve the Framework.
